I used an unsprung trailer for many years, with great success. The issues
would be the size of the trailer and the load. I towed Minis and Midgets,
and the trailer was fairly compact, double axle. With no suspension to
equalize the load it's important to have the hitch at just the right
height, to have the load such that each axle can support the total weight
if need be, and the tire pressure be low enough to encourage the tires to
flex to balance the load across the axle pairs.
