Civil engineer, isn't that an oxymoron. One more reason why knowing the load in a rod bolt is that it can effect the roundness of the bearing bore. That's why the bores are sized with the bolts torqued to spec. and using stretch (as Mark said) is a much more accurate method of determining load in a bolt. |
