To all who knew Bob Prouty, Bob suffered a massive heart attack shortly
after leaving VIR late Sunday afternoon. We had a wonderful fall weekend and
Bob was looking forward to getting back to Wisconsin and his winter projects.
Bob is well know in the Mid-West and has been building engines for
vintage racers since the beginning of the sport. Mike Miles was one of his
earliest customers. More recently he has been doing work for George Stauffer,
Carl Jensen and Ken Quintenz. A memorial will be established in his name and
it is hoped that there will be funding enough to provide a cash award as well
as recognition to the recipients. Contributions may be sent to the SVRA
office, 257 Dekalb Industrial Way, Decatur, GA 30030, but this is not a
strictly SVRA memorial.
