It might be my old car.

I built a GT 6 many years ago. I went over to Group 44 and spent 2 days
in the shop while Lankie and Bryan F tought me everything they knew
about building the car.

One thing I did not like were the sliding spline half shafts they used.
Lankie said it was the weak spot in the car since the splines would tend
to lock up on hard dig out of corner and the back end would bounce and
the car would oversteer.

I discovered that Datsun half shafts would fit with only a little
machine work. I called Lankie at group 44 and he would have kissed me
if I had been close.

One trick 44 used was to put a heim ball in the spring eye as an
articulation point in the rear suspension, cause if you put solid
bushings everywhere in the rear, the spring and control arm articulated
on different planes, and the result would be to brake the cast iron diff
casing. Many peoople had problems there and did not know why. easy fix
once you understand the way the arms move.

PS the enngine needs separate airquip lines into each block oil gallery
to oil properly.I think it takes 4 lines, as the cast in hole in the
block will not carry enough oil to keep the crank alive.
