I'd consider coming to Wendover for a race...its a great place with nice
hotels, casinos, and entertainment. Now if you guys can just get it
coordinated with RMVR, or whoever, and get that Park City race off the
ground that's been talked about for years...THAT would be something!! I'd
definitely make the trip for that!!

Well, don't be holding your breath just yet. Ever since I flagged at the last
SCCA regional race to be run in the Salt Lake Valley, maybe '74 or '75, rumors
of a new track in the area crop up. A couple of years ago we even ran a few
events on what was promising to be a decent start of a track in the next valley
over. It was part of the test track the army had laid out at their truck and
tank repair facility. We didn't use the 12 foot deep water trap ;-) But that
venue was nixed by the new owners, a private development group.

Now, rumors are starting to surface of a purpose built race track to be done
in Heber, a little ways down the road from Park City. After the vintage
motorcycle weekend last year in Park City, which included a street race, it is
pretty unlikely any more races will be held there. Drat. When I see asphalt
getting laid down in Heber, then I'll get excited about a new track in the
area.
