Listers I like the detour that was taken about Washington and Lincoln and the cherry tree. Why are the perpetrators always remembered? Who owned the cherry tree and why have they been forgotten? (Was it the Murphy family whose cow created a conflagation?) Victims, it seems, are always forgotten. That probably applies to the victims of "authentic" race cars. FWIW. Society remembers the strong, rich, and inventive, not the victims. Mike |
