I think the Lotus 51 would have a split case 330 R-8 gearbox with crown
wheel with 35 teeth and a drive pinion with 8 teeth. Final drive ratio is
1.03.
Ratios may be:
1st 3.61
2nd 2.25
3rd 1.48
4th 1.03
Reverse 3.07
