MESSAGE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE LOTUS CORTINA REGISTER
AND OTHERS CONNECTED WITH CLASSIC CARS

Mk 2 Lotus Cortina
1968, series 1
UK reg: UGY 966F
was stolen 1st February 2000, from Wallington, Surrey, UK
White with Green stripe, black full length sun roof,
chassis number: BA91HC89381
engine number: LF 11932
build plate number: 8BR2L2FL1260

More than likely the car will be broken up for parts,

Easily identified engine,
Vegantune Cam cover in black with LOTUS across timing chain and VEGANTUNE
along each cam, Vegantune plate affixed to centre of timing chain cover.
cylinder head has tappings on each inlet tract.
Can confirm valve sizes, shim thickness & camshaft offsets

Engine block finished in grey with engine number stamped in usual place.
Can confirm piston sizes, Main & big end sizes,=20

Recently reconditioned Girling Mklla servo,
dash top and gauges all in good condition
leaking oil seal on drivers side rear wheel,
Motolita leather steering wheel on aluminium boss
interior seats etc  were from a Deluxe
two piece prop shaft
centre consol with clock ( runs slow )
Sun roof has been recovered ( made by weathersheilds of Birmingham )
twin 40DCOE webers type 31 with K&E filters
Luminition electronic ignition
2000E gear box
3.77 rear axle with radius arms
Wheels, 2 were stove enamelled with P2000 185/70 tires, the other 2 were
painted silver with 175/70 tires.=20
No front bumper or bumper irons, green racing strips on centre of lower=20
front valance

Body colour was originally Black Cherry this colour is still evident in
boot along with some yellow paint also evident on inside of bonnet

Repairs to inner sills both sides, outriggers both sides,
Lotus badges on both rear flanks these are the push on type not threaded
type.
Twin cam badge on boot lid faded to silver

Rear seats fitted with seat belts, extra holes in rear parcel shelve and
transmission tunnel

Not the best Lotus Cortina in the world, but will be missed.
