I'm thrilled to see that you have included MR legal FV's with the small bore
group. I really enjoy some of the races I've had in groups like that.

Do I gather correctly that there will not be an open wheel group for the FF,
 FJ, FB crowd?

Doubt I can make the first event in SC but will do my level best to have my
FV
at VIR and I have a couple of friends that will be there as well to
participate
in the first drafting duel of the season.

Best of the holiday season to you and all the rest of the VDCA cognoscenti

Hi Mike

Thanks for the note. Alex deserves all the credit for creating the website.
Bob Harrington deserves the credit for the great photos we used in the site.

Our thinking on the monoposto cars is that we will have them at selected
events. One of the primary goals of VDCA is to insure that all participants
have plenty of track time. At Savannah, we had an event during some of the
shortest days of the year, with sunset at 5:20 pm. We felt we could not have
two 30 minute sessions for more than 6 groups unless we ran the risk of
deviating from that goal. We do not want to fall into the trap of having so
many groups that no one has enough track time. Since Monoposto now is two
groups (FF, F-Jr, F-B and the Wings and Slicks crowd) it would have meant we
would have had to have 8 or 9 group sessions. VDCA is more concerned with
track time, period authenticity and driver conduct that we are with numbers
of cars at the event, so we elected to have only sports cars, sports racers
and prewar cars at our first event.

Our philosophy worked well at Savannah. We had plenty of track time for
everyone, and, most importantly, no damaged cars. At most of our 2000
events, we will have enough daylight time to have separate open wheel
classes. As you know, I was the SVRA's first Group Two representative, so I
have a special place in my heart for the open wheel cars. I too want to
bring my open wheel car to VDCA events and plan to do so next year.

David
