We have worked with SU's on several British cars on our dyno. We modified 
needle diameters to get proper A/F ratio and dynamic response.  Took a bunch 
of time but they really worked great and had very good response on 
acceleration. 

Don't get them too big. 

But they just don't work on our Ford V-8s.
