The weight distribution is generally the key. It is possible to find that using your local truck scale to determine the total weight and the weight on the hitch. Another possible factor is the tires. I am told that auto tires have a too soft sidewall and will contribute to sway. Tires specifically designed for trailer use with stiffer sidewalls are available. I bought a set of General Tire.
