I have an MGA street car and am considering a Bugeye or A for
vintage racing. Can you give me an idea of about how much I
should be prepared to spend for a Sprite that has a current
log book? Any suggestions or preferences on 1275 vs. 948
(besides the power difference)? I presume in most organizations
they run id a different class. Are they more competitive in one
verses the other?

I currently run the hoosier donuts, 185 60/13, but I found the 70's hoosier
to be much more predicatable; however my little motor like the gearing of
the smaller tire. You probably will not notice any difference until you
begin to "drift" the corners. The bias tires are very easy to control. The
radials were strange on my car. I probably didn't have enough camber. Also
the hoosier radials are now considered slicks by HSR. You could probably
use the BFG R1's, they have built in camber and some tread.
