It some respects it seems their "rules" are less strict than CSRG, and
some vehicles that are not allowed in CSRG encounter not problems in
HMSA.

I am told there was a Lotus 7 that was running with too wide wheels,
although the owner claimed they were only 5 or 5 1/2" wide. They
measured his rims, found that they were 7" wide, so they told him he
couldn't run CSRG with those rims. He turned up at HMSA with his 7"
rims, and nothing was done about it although someone complained.

The most amusing example is a Kurtis powered by a 1994 Corvette V-8,
which had its power plant accurately listed on the information board
displayed next to the car. This car was not only permitted to compete,
but received an award for presentation and spirit of the rules. Go
figure.
