The SP-2 was a Volkswagen sports car built by VW of Brazil in the early 1970s.
One was tested by Road and Track in July of 1973. It was based on the VW of
Brazil Brazilia chassis, which was similar to, but not identical with, the
Type 3 VW sold here. It had a 1678cc engine with 65 hp (low compression to run
on poor Brazilian gas). Very nice finish - there was also a stripped-down SP-1
with a smaller engine. I saw one at the Carlisle Import and Kit Car show last
year and it was a beauty! Never sold in kit form, was a real VW product sold
in VW showrooms.
