We ran the Yenko for a while with a locked advance plate. At 34 degrees it worked fine. Race cars normally run "all in" so the only problem is starting and low speed running. The fix is a MSD or other electronic system with programable advance. It gives much better control of spark timing. I wonder if electronic ignition fits the spirit of vintage. The only electronic ignition we ran prior to '75 or so was a CD unit actuated by the original dist. |
