I drove at Goodwood last year and was rather diappointed. Some friends who
were there described it as a festival of sloath, not a festival of speed.
Given that there were approx 150 cars, until 120 cars had been up on
saturday 2nd place was a 1927 Bugatti!!!!!Goodwood is OK for seeing
famous people and cars, but dont expect much action. DO EXPECT HUGE
CROWDS. It is nevertheless quite interesting

If you are really keen to see some action and dont mind hoping about, why
not go to Goodwood on the Friday, very few people about and you can get
close to the cars. On teh saturday,
go up to Silverstone (2hour drive). And return to Goodwood for the sunday.
WHY > The vintage Sports car club (VSCC) have a race meeting at
Silverstone. Full 11 race programme including the following
Pre 1930 Racing cars
Pre war racing cars
Pre war sports cars
Pre 1960 Front engined GP cars
Pre 1963 Rear engine GP and formula Juniors cars
50s Sports cars
A race for Alvis cars
A number of other handicap and scratch races for pre war cars

For more info on the VSCC event Email me back or ring the club on
                +44 1608 644777

The admission price for Silverstone is probably about 15 US$ for to
people, which compares favourably with teh 35 $ a head for Goodwood.
Especially when you will se a lot more action
