We also have NASCAR running in Melbourne on an oval - they use road
courses to make up a series travelling to each state.
The cars are not old enough and in sufficient quantity to run a historic
series. I think those chassis that survive a season are simply updated
with a new body and half the field us 5 years old or older!
The Melbourne oval does not have a track licence for historic vehicles at=
present and if we wanted to do a Brooklands re-enactment we would need to=
convince them that older cars ... mainly built for road courses ... could=
run safely in an oval environment.
Any precedent for this in North America would be helpful.
