Ecurie ecosse were formed by David Murray in 1952 and  ran a number of
pseudo works cars between then and the mid 1960s. Amongst other cars they
ran C-Type and D-Type Jaguars, a Cooper Bristol, Tojeiros,  a Cooper Monaco
and a couple of Listers.
Their best result came in a D-Type Jaguar when they won Le Mans in 1957 (the
year after the works Jaguar team retired), and among other drivers they
employed the scot Jimmy Stewart (and his more famous brother Jackie).
 Ecurie Ecosse means Team Scotland (Ecurie meaning team as in Ecurie
Bugatti) and Ecosse being the Roman name for Scotland
