The engine used in the Sunbeam Imp was an original design that was similar to the Coventry Climax FWA engine. No parts will interchange (to my knowledge) and it is was not designed or built by Coventry Climax, or called a Coventry Climax. It was a pretty good 850cc engine, and the Imp easily outran the 850 Minis in England. It was also popular in small-bore sports-racers. Harold Pace |
