NEWS RELEASE

VSCDA PREMIERES THEIR 1997 SEASON WITH VIC ELFORD AND A NEW RACETRACK

Vic Elford, Internationally renown racing driver, instructor and author will
join the Vintage Sports Car Drivers
Association as the featured instructor and Grand Marshal for their seasons
first motorsports weekend.  Mr.
Elford has enjoyed many world wide victories including: LeMans, Targa
Florio, Daytona, Sebring, East African
and Monte Carlo Rallies and Nurburing plus numerous others.

"Spring Brake" will be conducted May 16-18, 1997 at Alan Christian Motorcars
and the new Gingerman
Raceway.  Both facilities are located along the beautiful Lake Michigan
shoreline.

The low cost performance drivers school is divided into three groups:
Beginner, intermediate and advanced with
a structure similar to the format developed by the Jim Russel International
School.  It will commence at Alan
Christian Motorcars, a fascinating Holland based Classic Auto restoration,
repair and race car preparation
operation Friday PM with classroom sessions, reception, event registration
and technical inspection.

Mr. Elford will include his classroom lecture on vehicle dynamics, braking
and driving techniques.  Also Burt
Levy, well known vintage racing scribe, instructor and racer, will present
his well developed and proven
instructional program.

Other sessions will address flagging and communication, rules of racing,
safety and what to expect later on the
track.  Vic Elford mini seminars and "one on one" will also occur during the
weekend.

The on track sessions utilizing additional lead instructors start down the
road early Saturday morning at the
"New" Gingerman Raceway.  It is located just outside the picturesque lake
shore resort community of South
Haven (less than two hours east of Chicago).  Gingerman Raceway, designed by
Alan Wilson is a 1.8 mile, 36
foot wide, 11 turn challenging road course.

During the Saturday night trackside party, vintage racers will be provided
an opportunity for free touring of the
race track.  This will be a first time experience for most racers, unless
they took advantage of the Raceways
Friday open practice.

Sunday is set aside exclusively for an affordable day (less than $100) of
practice, qualifying and Vintage/Historic
Racing.  Typical of VSCDA events, there will also be family activities, pig
roast, car show, touring and a Peoples
Choice Race Car Concour.
