In all this piston/head business, I thought I'd throw out a shameless commercial plug for my engine builder, Al Burtoni in Gilroy, CA (V-12 Engineering), since I think he did a GREAT job. My stock block, stock stroke (not a tall block or stroker) Lotus twin cam built by Al has over 190HP, sees 9,000 rpm, and WENT OVER 120 HOURS before requiring freshening (yeah, I have an hourmeter installed!). I think he's got the piston/head/valve clearance right!! Regards, Myles H. Kitchen Lotus Cortina Mk1 #128 |
