Vixen S2s all had six shocks and 4 springs and S3s had 4 shocks and 4 
springs.  I don't know about 2500s.

I read in "Success against the odds" that the extra damper was first 
added to the Grantura to prevent acceleration wind up.

It is not uncommon for the pivot bar at the bottom of the rear casting 
to fail and I think therefore that there is a big advantage to using 
four springs at half the rate on the back. This is what I intend to do 
with my S3 - but first I have to remove the pivot bars and fit longer 
ones.
