Yes, the TVR list has been quiet. Let's all wish Rich the best of luck for
his hillclimb event in his newly refurbished Vixen.
I'll mention a great magazine issue I picked up recently, for those
interested in contemporary TVRs. The June 2000 issue of BBC's Top Gear
has a cover story titled "TVR POWER" with laudatory articles first on
the Tuscan Speed Six and then on the Speed Twelve. It is from the latter
article I learned that the 1:18 scale Hot Wheels purple model of the
Speed 12 I bought for my kids for Christmas (OK, I admit I bought two)
will never be reality. Due to a change in European racing rules, the
car has morphed into a "Cerbera Speed 12," with much the same internal
specs (can you beat 0-60 in 3.1 secs?) but with a less startling external
appearance.
But the Speed 6 is still something I could own, that is if I lived in
europe, sold my house and forgot about sending the kids to college.
Decisions, decisions...
Meanwhile, my summer goal is to get my 2500M back on the (California) road.
