Merry Christmas, everyone!

I last summer, the type A overdrive in my =E2=80=9874 TR6 died. John Esposi=
to
provided a newly rebuilt J-type transmission to replace it. have now tried
several times to install this transmission, replacing the clutch, pressure
plate, carrier bushing, release bearing and the clutch slave cylinder too,
just to be sure I was getting off to a fresh start. I have now =E2=80=9Cgiv=
en up=E2=80=9D
on it for the winter as it=E2=80=99s no fun working on it at these temps. D=
espite
carefully bleeding the clutch slave, the car lurches when I try to start
it, acting like the release bearing is in full-time contact with the
pressure plate though I=E2=80=99ve got good travel on the cross-shaft arm. =
I
tied-off the cross shaft during installation to make sure the release
bearing stayed in position but=E2=80=A6. I can=E2=80=99t think of anything =
I=E2=80=99ve overlooked
or process that I=E2=80=99ve short-cut. Any ideas you have would be greatly
appreciated!
