Look up a 1998 Ford Mustang V6 to see if you can find a shorter one with
that reference. You can also angle the adapter to get a bit more
space. Give the location of the frame rail, I just kept the original
oil filter on the GT6. I do have the spin on adapter on my TR6, but
that car has much more room.
