I have about an 8.5 ft ceiling in my garage with truss roof construction.
While not a trivial endeavor, there are approved methods for reinforcing a
cut truss. I created a pocket about 14 or 15 inches into the ceiling for
the greenhouse of a vehicle to park into. In the driving season, I stack
my '71 Spit bodied GT6 and a '61 Ford Falcon - either on top. I have a two
post lift - and wish it were a 4 post lift for the convenience (speed) of
swapping cars.
