As I recall, the boot goes over the push rod with the small end facing =
down and the large end fitting through the large hole in the bracket =
that the holds the solenoid.

Clarification =E2=80=93 not the solenoid itself, but the pushrod.  =
There=E2=80=99s that boot that came with it and I=E2=80=99m not sure how =
exactly it is supposed to be installed.  The car has never had that =
little rubber boot on it; this is a new solenoid and pushrod that =
