Not apples to apples, but just for info. We used a squash of .020, no gasket, O
ring, & turned 13 to 14 rpm with our 2 stroke 250cc motors. Cannot remember the
cc?s for the heads. But it took many, many hours with 400 wet paper, WD40 & a
surface plate to achieve the desired combo.

If you have good race rods and all of the clearances are to spec, you could pop
it up a few thou but I wouldn't go any less than .030.
Yes you can run it a little tighter but that's the point where there won't be
any carbon buildup on top of the piston, and all it takes is a missed-shift to
turn it into junk.
Considering that the gasket may compress a few thou, depending on what gasket
you're using, you'll likely be fine with 0-deck, as you're planning.

Amici,

Building a small journal 1296cc Spitfire.
Running Venolia?s over Carrillos
been know to go to 8500K rpm (occasionally).

Going to have the block/pistons decked to zero. (can someone tell me a better
way to say this?)
Anyway, I realized that my quench clearance would be the crush thickness of the
head gasket.
.035 ~.0385
In the Comp Prep manual it states .025 as plenty of gap.

Just want to see what y?all say.
Thanks,
Don
