I ran one of the early Road America regionals ? ?72 I think.
There were two other TR3?s there besides mine and one
of them was flat towed behind a 289 Cobra!

And, of course, how one ends up with an email address moniker...CATPUSHER.

It all fits.

I really shouldn't speak for Hardy, but I do recall him flat towing his TR-3
race car behind his 1967 E-Type coupe for years, up to about 1987? I also seem
to recall that he disconnected the driveshaft in the TR-3.

?We should get some input from Hardy Prentice, the grand-daddy of flat towing
TR experience.?

Hell...years ago Chevy made a stovebolt 6 engine that worked like that. The
?Splash Oiler?., when little scoops used to come down, fill up with oil, and
splash oil the engine. Should work in a tranny. Old fashioned High Tech.

  Vrooom....

turn, only the syncro hubs will turn since they are locked to the main shaft. I
doubt that they will cause enough oil to lube the gears and bushings on the
main shaft while it's turning. I think you're taking a chance if towing very
far or at high speeds.
