I used a light coating of silicone grease. Has worked fine on a daily driver
over the past dozen years when I haven't avoided the rain.

I'm pretty sure that's Aqua-Lube, which is good for quieting synthetic
suspension bushings, too.
I've also used Red Line synthetic grease for the rack (and the guts of
the motor).
