I've been on the Mail List since 1997 but rarely participate... more on tha=
t
later on..
My thoughts are this.......... in 1997 the Internet was relatively new with=
most
people in the early to mid 90's using services like AOL, Prodigy, Comp-u-se=
rve
etc. Netscape Navigator was the "first" browser and that came out around 19=
95 so
there wasn't much graphics in those days. Everyone was on slow Dial-up and =
a
text based Mail List made sense for most "communities" with common interest=
s. No
graphics, no attachments, no pictures, no HTML.... just plain text. Today
however, most
everyone has a high speed connection that streams video with no problem. Wh=
o
could have foreseen that in 1995? In the past 10 years many mail lists have
migrated to
community Forums where everything is organized by topic with pictures and v=
ideo
allowed.
With the growth of the Forums, specifically 6-Pack and BCF, many Mail List
members have moved on to keep up with the times..... for me a picture speak=
s a
thousand words when I have a problem. But the other interesting thing is th=
at
TR6 participation for both the Mail List and BCF has dropped significantly =
to
the point where the vast majority of the posts are TR3 (1st), TR4 (2nd) and=
TR6
last. I recently logged into BCF and found 2 TR6 posts in the first 30 post=
s. We
TR6 owners have mostly moved to 6-Pack. All the posts are grouped specific =
to
a subject: electrical, mechanical, body etc.... and there's even an Off Top=
ic
section.

Yes we can get off topic but IMHO, it's full of super smart helpful guys (j=
ust
like the Mail List)
who can solve any problem (just like the Mail List).=20
