Some time ago I adopted the practice of torquing the castle nuts for the wheel bearings on my TR3A to 10 Ft. Lbs. and then backing off one notch before pinning them. I found last week that my wheel bearings and races were heat checked and grooved. I now consider the tightening practice I used to be too tight.
