Yes. I've heard several times from people with the same problem. Seems the
new linings are just a bit too thick.
Used to be, any full-line auto parts store/machine shop would perform this
service for you; for free or nearly so. They would measure the inside of
the drum, and grind the surface of the shoe to be an exact match. It made a
noticeable difference in the performance of the brakes on my 62 Chevy.
But I doubt they will do it any more.
