Its been a couple of years since I've done this work, but I dont think the
seal presses into the metal holder - as I recall it was pump body, then seal
put in, then metal holder presses into pump body to trap the seal. As long a
you sandwich the seal sufficiently you don't need to worry about using any
other sealer to hold it in place. Hope that makes sense.
