Factory instructions for both TR6 & Stag specifically say to do final tightening with the wheel on the ground. Here's a TSB saying the same thing for earlier cars: http://www.triumphsonly.com/pages/technical/1-f-1.htm Considering what happens to the spokes when you drop the clutch in 1st, I think the major chance of damage is missing with the hammer and hitting the spokes instead of the knockoff. -- Randall |
