A while back I hit the local church run thrift store and selected a
collection of old loaf pans, muffin tins, and such. They were
marked as 50 cents apiece but when I went to pay, the kindly old
lady at the register said "Oh, those are so rusty and dirty, I'll
only charge you 25 cents each." I didn't want to burst her bubble,
so I paid the reduced price and thanked her profusely.
Maybe I should have told her I purposely picked out the worst
looking buggers of the lot since I was just going to use them for
parts sorting, cleaning and such. But it was so nice to see the smile
of satisfaction on her face for doing such a good deed for the day.
