After checking the things Alex outlined, I'd either pull it apart myself, or find an "auto electric" shop that can do it for you. $225 is a reasonable price for a full rebuild, but they can frequently be repaired for substantially less. If the windings aren't visibly burned, it may just need new brushes or bushings. And a starter is a starter, you don't need a Case specialist or even tractor specialist to deal with it. -- Randall |
