And that is a Good Thing, IMO. I certainly do not want to have to pay the
extra cost of 100% incoming inspection.
Remember that $700 hammer? If you start listing all the ways that such an
item could be tested (starting with hardness of the steel in multiple
places, radius of curvature on the face, moisture content of the handle,
type of wood, etc, etc) and then figuring what it would cost to have someone
competent to do all those tests, plus all the tools required, and a shop to
do them in, and so on; $700 for a $10 hammer starts looking like a bargain.
