Theoretically, a model 550 should work, but my experience is that they don't
unless you rewire the indicator lamp on the dash.

Best route is probably to just buy a proper flasher from one of the usual
suspects.

FWIW when my original quit a couple of years ago I got a "modern"
replacement from Moss (complete with holographic label.)
Works OK but takes god-awful long to start; light comes on right away but
takes 2-3 seconds to begin blinking.
