Aha! I see you have spotted the deliferate mistale! I was mixing old and  
new currencies!
 
50p is the equivalent of 10 bob. 12 old pennies to a shilling, added  
pointlessly to 12 NEW pence makes 11 shillings. There. Now we're all  confused.
 
And I didn't get into Florins, "Thruppeny Bits" and half crowns because  I  
was trying to introduce the simpicity of this system in stages.
