It's the latest thing in "social networking". When you sign up for one of
these sites, it runs a script that harvests all the addresses in your email
contacts folder and "invites" them to join as well. What we used to call an
"Internet worm" is now part of somebody's business model.
Such is progress.
Ignore it and maybe it will go away.
