i run shell rotella in the diesels, and that oil has reduced zddp from
earlier formulations as well.
i talked with shell, and they said it was a pollution response for light
trucks and cars running the oil. they also said that too much zddp can be
harmful to flat tappet engines.
sorta like the three bears story.
