Excuse me if this is too obvious for words ... but for the front suspension
on a TR2-6, what you want is the Triumph-specific spring compressor that
goes through the center of the spring but actually connects to the spring
tower and the spring pan. As already mentioned, you can make your own with
hardware store parts, or they are available from Moss, TRF, et al. MUCH
superior to the "general purpose" ones that try to grab the spring coils
(from either inside or outside the spring).
