Well guys, the stag purchase failed so I'm still on the hunt for a Triumph
project. I have a lead on a GT6 that is for sale for $400. It's not pretty
but we can get it there.
The PO says it's missing a grill, some chrome and wheels. Of course it
hasn't been run in years.
1. What are your thoughts on these cars?
Fun if you like to sweat. Good power and lots to do if originality is not a
concern. Easy to work on unless you are working in the footwells
2. More importantly, how easy is it to get parts for them?
Pretty easy. Parts are available here in the states /UK through the normal
channels. Some interior bits are hard to find.
3. Are there areas that I need to keep an eye out for?
Rot in the following areas
Front bonnet lip
Front bonnet wheel arches
Front valance (s)
Top of the roof close to the screen
Front window pillars and A post
Sills
Floor pans
Rear fender arches
The stag was not complete and the parts that the PO got rid off would have
cost thousands to replace.
All the best
