Jim, for what it's worth, I just took a quick measurement on my '60 TR3.
At the top of the bumper, from edge of bumper to sheet metal, just a hair
shy of 2 1/4". At midpoint (vertically) 1 7/8" (because fo the curve in the
sheet metal). The bottom is a little hard to measure because the
bumper/bracket hangs down just lower than the sheet metal, but it's right at
2 1/4" like the top.
