Odd you should bring that up. I pulled up next to an old gentleman
in a 55
Chevy four days ago. The car looked original as did the driver. The
car had
dual exhaust but no "V". It is possible that started in 56.
As an owner of a '55 BelAir Sport Coupe, 6 cylinder, in High School,
the 8's had
little V8s mid-point between the tail lights, and the bumpers. I sure
wished mine had
a V8, but I probably would have killed myself.... I even miss the
2-speed Powerglide!
