Well, I am finally getting to putting the engine back together on my 56TR3
after a very long time out.
A bit of history: took the engine out approx 20 years ago during what I thought
was going
to be a fairly quick refurb. Kids, building a house, 4 university educations
and other things got in the way.
Over time though I did do the frame, body, interior and all things related. New
wiring harness that is almost done except for a
couple of wires that I am not sure of that I will probably asking help for.
Still waiting for the hood, front fenders and cowling
to be finished but almost there.
Fast forward to today, Now retired so plenty of time. I took the head off years
ago for inspection and all seemed fine. I have regularly
squirted oil in the cylinders and turned the engine with the fan. No rust in
the cylinders but a little on the
head. I am taking it in to have it cleaned and resurfaced if necessary. The
lifters were left in.
The question is what should I do with the engine before I put it back together
and drop it in? Still on the engine stand.
Thanks
Harold
