Sorry, Bob, you're a bit too far away for me to help pull the tranny.

Which is what you have to do at this point.  We could all theorize about what
the problem is, but you're going to have to pull the tranny anyway to fix it ...
might as well pull it first to see what the problem is.

It's actually not as bad as it sounds, IF you can get some help to lift it out
and back in and to un/do some of the engine-tranny bolts.  Take both seats out,
take the carpets under the seats out, undo & remove the tunnel ... you're
halfway there.  A 1/4" or 3/8" drive air ratchet makes short work of all those
7/16" bolts.
