When I rebuilt the front suspension, etc. on my 6 I repacked the wheel
bearings and found a LOT of grease in the cavity in the hub between the
outboard
and inboard wheel bearing. Now that I am dong my 3A I find the same thing.
Does this excess grease serve any function? On the 6 I replaced about 1/2 of
the quantity I found originally in the cavity even though it did not seem to
me to provide any lubrication. I certainly pack the bearings well and make
sure that all surfaces have adequate grease
