Or do what I did - build a small pressure tank that injects oil into the 
engine and fully primes the pump and fills all the galleys and bearings 
prior to even turning the engine over.  Mine was a PVC pipe with a tire 
valve stem on one end, pipe adapters on the other with 3/8" pipe fittings, a 
gauge and a valve, with adapters to fit where your oil pressure gauge goes 
into the engine.  Fill half full of oil, pressurize to about 60 psi, hook it 
up, open the valve the pressurize the engine, then turn over your starter 
and see if the engine is generating oil pressure.  Works great.
